the french, the berets.

for forever, i've always thought that the image of the french in berets was, well, untrue. and since i've never been to france (though i dream of it all the time), i rely on what friends tell me, and my own suspicious. but when i went to the french market at the lycee francais de chicago school this weekend, there were so many cute people, young and old, sporting berets (and striped shirts, of course). the only purchase i made at the market was a delicious chocolate crepe (the prices, overall, were a little high for my wallet), but it was delightful to listen to the young children and adults speak french, and to watch the kids run around with their faces freshly painted.
the pictures of these two women and their berets are sure lovely, don't you think?
