can i get a hallelujah for it being friday? i'm so ready for the weekend, and am even more happy because i'm headed up to michigan tonight to celebrate my grandmother's birthday. all of my aunts and uncles are coming into town to celebrate, too, so it should be a grand old time. this is a picture of my grandmother, grandfather and ted kennedy (teddy is on the left, and my grandfather is on the right). i know i've said this before, but isn't my grandmother so darn beautiful? and that hat! and oh my, her smile!

my friends, what is everyone up to this halloween weekend? tonight, i plan to be a grading and cleaning machine, and tomorrow, johnny and i are having a few pals over to celebrate halloween with board games, snacks and we're really hoping to get some trick or treaters in our hood. for the first time in forever, i live in a walk-up apartment vs. a large complex. we're still trying to figure out a costume, since the original plan fell through, and as a note to myself, i'd like to say on record that i plan to never attempt to dress up again. is that grouchy of me, or what?
