the three-day weekend was a good one here in chicago-- met with friends old & new, and filled our days with pretty things. . .

fresh flowers from the wicker park farmer's market
along with beautiful food, of course: raspberries from nichols' farm, shelley beans and sweet one hundred tomatoes.
on labor day we drove to evanston to go have a picnic on lake michigan, but since we didn't have passes, nor did we have cash, couldn't get in. i told johnny we had to make lemonade out of the sour situation, and plopped a picnic on the grass. this dude came and sat with his laptop, which was a picture worth snapping, i thought.
and here is a nice shot of johnny, happy that he finally convinced me to play catch, baseball gloves and all. every weekend should be a three day weekend, my friends.
